Piet Mondrian

“Every true artist has been inspired more by the beauty of lines and color and the relationships between them than by the concrete subject of the picture.”
– Mondrian

What I love most about Mondrian’s work is how the simple use of lines that create lattices, while adding pops of color in between, becomes a multi-rotational masterpiece. You can look at any of Mondrian’s pieces in different orientations from different directions, and they appear to change but also look the same.

Above are some of Mondrian’s works, of which are listed below. Clicking on the title of a piece will take you to it's respective page on Mondrian’s website.

    1. The Still Life with Gingerpot I
    2. Composition No. VII
    3. The Gray Tree
    4. The Still Life with Gingerpot II
